The renovated Burg. van Grunsvenplein in front of Heerlen Theatre is the bustling heart of Cultura Nova throughout the festival. Things are going well for WIES, the Dutch-language pop trio from Amsterdam consisting of Jeanne Rouwendaal, Tobias Kolk and Dan Huijser. Besides influences from alternative rock and electronica, the music of WIES is characterised by an unmistakable Do It Yourself mentality. The songs are reflections on both the big questions in life and the small things that occupy a young adult. In 2020, WIES won the 3FM talent award, followed a year later by their debut album Het Is Een Wies, containing the singles Soms Is Het Te Laat, Barman, Meisje and Radiostilte. They played at Pinkpop, Best Kept Secret, Concert at SEA and now also at Cultura Nova.

The programming of the Spiegeltentconcerten is a collaboration between Cultura Nova, Parkstad Limburg Theatres and poppodium NIEUWE NOR.
