Va de Bach

Aracaladanza (ES)

A new dream performance by Aracaladanza with Bach as inspiration

What if we built a giant hand that could play an organ? What if balloons started to sing? And what if they leak? What if we got excited and laughed at Bach, his music and his universe? All these questions and more are answered in Va de Bach, Aracaladanza’s new visual dance performance featuring five dancers, a sad gorilla and a giant hand.

Aracalandanza has previously appeared at Cultura Nova with successful youth performances inspired by famous artists such as Hieronymus Bosch, René Magritte, Joan Miró and Leonardo da Vinci. This time, the Spanish dance company explores the extraordinary world of Johann Sebastian Bach. His wondrous music has inspired generations of artists. And his work can still be found in films, paintings, dance and video games. Even in music by The Beatles and Muse. In Va de Bach, Bach is more than creative beauty. More than technical perfection and intellectual depth. Even more than the basics of music. Bach is spiritual purity, absolute imagination and intense emotion.

“Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited and imagination circles the world.” – Albert Einstein
