Soundsystem for Silence

Myubio (NL)

Myubio’s Soundsystem for Silence is an immersive sound installation that invites visitors to reconnect with the earth’s natural sound environments.

In our contemporary world, we often experience noise pollution. Places of true silence, free from sounds unrelated to the earth’s acoustic system, have become increasingly rare. We reach for noise canceling headphones to escape the noise pollution we create ourselves. We are becoming disconnected from the natural environments that once surrounded us.

Inspired by the “audible silence” of nature, Myubio developed a modular sound installation with intelligent sound sources that grow, transform and evolve. Thus, they awaken in us a deep connection with natural acoustics. This effect is enhanced by spatial light. Early prototypes of the installation were developed at Intro in Situ, this installation is a follow-up.
