A mix of hip-hop and classical that you can hear and feel
sor, stage name of Rosario Mussendijk is a Dutch rapper and producer. He is one of the creative brains behind the hip-hop collective Black Acid. In 2018, sor suddenly experienced hearing loss, which forced him to work even more creatively. He took up that challenge
by using his piano, synthesizers and his Phonak hearing aid. In 2022, thanks to his great musicality, he was the surprise winner of the popular TV program Maestro. This year, he won the Edisons for hip-hop and best album for his trilogy Bae Doven No.1 / No. 2 / No. 3, on which he brings together classical music and hip-hop. “Sor makes music that you not only hear but also feel. A symphony that comes in like a triumph,” said the pop awards jury. Sor recently performed with his own sorkest in a sold-out Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. During Cultura Nova he will bring his groundbreaking mix with six strings to Heerlen.
