LIBERTATEM OMNIBUS
Mike Kramer en Frank Steijns (NL)
The concert will be performed live twice during Cultura Nova by the city carillonneur of Heerlen.
In September 2024, it will be 80 years since Limburg was liberated and we have been living in freedom since the end of World War II. This should be celebrated. Especially in these times when we are witnessing a multitude of wars that have an enormous impact on many millions of citizens. Freedom is no longer a given. Reason enough to reflect on what freedom means. This moment will be graced by a composition written especially for the carillon, LIBERTATEM OMNIBUS (translated: freedom for all), which will be played on the carillon of St. Pancratius Church.
The composition was written by sound artist Mike Kramer of (h)ear and will be performed twice during Cultura Nova by the city carillonneur of Heerlen, Frank Steijns.
Frank Steijns is city carillonneur of Maastricht, Heerlen and Weert. He also plays the violin in Andre Rieu’s Johann Strauss Orchestra.
