Minimalist music to dream away to

Songs are generally a mix of sound, voice, melody and rhythm, working in harmony to tell a story or evoke a feeling. Dutch neo classical pianist Annelie explores this mix in her solo work within the confines of one instrument: the piano. It allows her to deliver her purest, most candid self. Strangely, however, Annelie receives many stories from people who, when listening to her music, experience the exact same feeling she had when she wrote the music. It is an uncanny but also reassuring confirmation that music can effect universal transmission.

Annelie played in Eefje de Visser’s band and with Jacqueline Govaert. Her playing is subtle and minimalistic, enlightening and soothing. Lovely for early Sunday afternoons.
